Return of Kempi's.....duh!

Go ahead and pinch yourself and realize that you are not dreaming....See it is real. Yes boys and girls Kempi's nightclub is coming back, even if it is just for one evening. Intercontinental Dallas is bringing us back in time to celebrate its 30th Anniversary. Kempi's nightclub was the place to see and be seen in the late 80's and Early 90's (yes I use to sneak in) Some of the most elite peeps were in the building from Celebrities, Athletes, socialites and other fab people.

Still don't know what the heck I am talking about....ok well listen up. In May of 1983, the hotel first opened its doors as The Registry Dallas and then became The Grand Kempinski Dallas in 1987. Ten years later , in 1997, the hotel changed its name to InterContinental Dallas, Since the beginning, numerous celebrity singers, movie stars, political figures and athletes have been spotted here. The hotel has been known as the preferred venue for conferences, large-scale business events, weddings and high-profile social events. Monumental moments include Academy Award-winning actress Greer Garson being honored at the USA Film Festival gala where President Ronald Reagan videotaped a congratulatory message that was played in the hotel's Grand Ballroom and George P. Bush has spoken numerous times at the hotel, It is also where the Cowboy's annual kick-off luncheon first began.

Throughout our 30 year history, InterContinental Dallas has changed names, been remodeled and added a new bar and restaurant options," said General Manager Scott Blakestee. "But one thing has always stayed the same-our commitment being the best business and leisure hotel in the DFW area. And we'll never forget the good times and good people that visited our property. We're excited to celebrate 30 years with a look back in the 80's where it all began." So ummm yeah beat that Hotel Zaza....just kidding you know I love you Zaza!

So I suggest you get on over to the 80's Throwback part at Kempi's nightclub. Where you can expect a DJ, playing the 80's most popular songs while the bar serves 80's-era cocktails like Kamikazes, wine coolers, Long Island Ice Tea and Sex on the Beach. All for just $5 each.

Festivities begin May 30 at 8 pm and go until midnight. There is no charge to enter the event. Attendees wishing to book a room for the night can do so at a special rate of $83. InterContinental Dallas is located at 15201 Dallas Parkway in Addison. For more information, or to make a reservation, call 972.638.6000
